Welcome to the 9th Brazil InterPore Chapter Conference

It is with great pleasure that we invite the scientific and industrial community to the 9th Conference of the Brazilian Chapter of the International Society for Porous Media (InterPore). The event will take place from August 10 to 13, 2026. Experience world-class science in one of the world's most beautiful cities. The conference will be held in Rio de Janeiro at the renowned Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas (CBPF). Located in the heart of the prestigious Urca neighborhood, the venue sits at the base of the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain, offering an unforgettable and inspiring setting for collaboration and discovery.

This Conference will be the nineth in a series of successful meetings organized by the Brazilian chapter committee of the International Society for Porous Media. The first Brazilian InterPore Conference was held at the Brazilian National Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) in Rio de Janeiro on October 19 to 21, 2014.

The scientific program focuses on advances in porous media research, methods, applications, and theory. It includes plenary lectures by internationally recognized experts and several seminar sessions on selected topics covering diverse scientific fields related to porous media.

The event aims to disseminate knowledge on porous media-related topics and instigate participants' interest in studying porous issues. The Brazilian Center for Research in Physics is a prominent developer of knowledge on porous media, with departments and laboratories dedicated to this research. Hosting the 9th Brazil Chapter InterPore Conference at CBPF provides an unparalleled opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the porous media research community and the university, bringing together international and local specialists from academia, industry, and related areas.
